Senior IT Business Analyst (Procure2Pay)

Aspect Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Senior IT Business Analyst for a Direct Hire Opportunity located in Midland, MI.

The Senior IT Business Analyst position is the strategic relationship owner, primary point of contact, and the IT planning lead for their business customer(s).  This role will be the conduit through which business priorities and needs are communicated and incorporated within the overall IT strategic and tactical action plan.  This role is responsible for the intake, assessment, implementation and/or disposition of new capability requests as they relate to the Client’s Procure to Pay function.  The role will also be responsible for handling investigation and needed escalations of issues in the current Procurement applications leveraged by the Client which include but are not limited to:  eSourcing, Spend Analytics, and Concur.  This role should be outcome-driven, ensuring that technology is an enabler for the business in their efforts to meet and exceed strategic objectives.


  • Define systems scope, objectives and functionality based upon user input and an understanding of business processes and industry requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with both their business stakeholders as well as development resources, both internal and external to the company. 
  • Independently devise optimal systems and processes as a result of broader and deeper experience.
  • Coach or mentor less senior professionals. 
  • Partner with Business areas, IT Executives, Solution / Application Architects, Engineering, Business Process and Business Planning leaders to create an actionable roadmap for the solutions and work that the IT teams will deliver.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to one or more business units and acts as the primary point-of-contact and interface between the IT department and key business stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of short- and long-term IT projects
  • Represent the Client’s IT to the business, promoting IT’s vision, value, services, and capabilities and also acts as an advocate on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure IT services meet their business priorities and needs
  • Partners with key business stakeholders, the client’s IT and vendor solution providers in the development of business requirements, project plans, testing scripts, implementation plans and ensures that the design and implementation of IT solutions meets the business needs.  Where applicable, ensures new applications adhere to financial SOX controls.
  • The Business Analyst analyzes organizational business processes (e.g., financials, sales, procurement) and identifies process improvements and system enhancements opportunities
  • Leads the user acceptance testing (UAT) or end-user testing on all applicable new solution development and system enhancement activities. Assists with problem analysis; escalates issues for additional review and resolution as applicable.
  • Consults with various stakeholders both inside and outside of the client’s IT department on emerging technology trends and their broader implications within the Chemicals industry
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints; ensures project tasks are completed in a timely fashion; clearly communicates any conflicts while providing recommended solutions to address.


  • Diverse experience in multiple functional areas (e.g., business intelligence, vendor management, procurement, sales, payroll, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash) and hands on experience in leading user acceptance testing
  • Knowledge of project management techniques; PMP and Six Sigma designation preferred
  • Exposure to third party ERP solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle) a plus
  • Demonstrates hands-on knowledge of Software development SDLC methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile)
  • Manages ambiguity well. Has a global outlook and develops local expertise while operating effectively in a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Demonstrates strong listening, communications, alliance-building, negotiation, conflict management and influencing skills
  • Strong enterprise business acumen


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS or related field and 10+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field; advanced degree preferred


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business analyst position with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with design / development teams, internal or external
  • 3 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports
